Pricing Overview

Wondering what it costs to scan, reverse engineer, and manufacture parts?

Send a few photos and your target quantity, we’ll reply with the best path and a quote.

To quote fast, send:

  • 3 to 5 photos
  • Notes any critical dimensions or tolerances

How we price projects

We price work one of three ways depending on what you need. Fixed quotes for clearly defined deliverables, time and materials for unknowns, and package-style starting points for common requests.

  • Fixed quote, most common for scan + CAD + parts, one-off replacements, and short production runs
  • Time and materials, best for unknowns, damaged parts, and iterative development
  • Starting point packages, quick budget numbers that convert to a formal quote after review

What affects cost the most

  • tolerances and fit requirements, tighter specs mean more modeling and verification
  • geometry complexity, internal passages, organic shapes, hard to reach features
  • what you already have, drawings, CAD, a clean sample, or a worn broken part
  • material and finish, aluminum vs steel vs plastics, coatings, heat treat, surface finish
  • timeline, rush options

Starting points and typical ranges

These are common starting points. Final pricing depends on geometry, tolerance requirements, and whether we’re delivering CAD files, parts, or both.

Many jobs don’t require scanning. If your part can be rebuilt accurately from measurements or an existing drawing, we’ll recommend that approach and save you money.

3D scanning

  • small bench scan, from $125
  • medium part scan, from $250
  • large part or assembly, from $500
  • on-site scanning *Call for Quote*

CAD modeling and reverse engineering

  • Scanning and measurements Included in pricing*
  • simple CAD (basic features, clean sample), from $250
  • moderate complexity, from $600
  • complex parts, quoted after review

Most common packages

  • measurements/photos + CAD, from $250 (when scanning isn’t needed)
  • scan + manufacturable CAD, from $500 (small/medium parts)

Manufacturing, CNC, lathe work, 3D printing, short runs

  • One-off replacement, quoted after review
  • Short production runs, setup cost + per-part pricing
  • Material, finish, and inspection requirements affect final cost

If you’re not sure where your part fits, send photos, we’ll recommend the lowest-cost path.

How to get a fast quote

Use the quote form to upload photos and details, it’s the fastest way to get an accurate price. Not everything is required, send what you have and we’ll guide the rest.

  • Photos (include a ruler for scale)
  • Material (or “match original”)
  • Where it installs / what it mates to
  • Any must-hit dimensions or tolerances
  • Deadline (if any)

We typically reply same day.

FAQ

Why can’t you list one price for everything?

Accuracy requirements and complexity change the work dramatically. Two parts can look similar but require very different scanning, modeling, and validation time.

Can you give a ballpark from photos?

Yes. Photos plus a couple measurements usually allows a rough range. Final pricing comes after scope and deliverables are confirmed.

Do you charge for quoting?

Most standard quotes are free. If a job requires mobile service, or heavy measurement. We will quote an evaluation step that can be credited toward the project.

Do you do rush jobs?

Yes, we do rush work. The main limiter is usually the reconstruction time required to turn scan data into a true manufacturable CAD model. After that, lead time depends on material, process, quantity, and finishing. We’ll quote standard and expedited options clearly.

If you want a real number, not a guess, send a couple photos and tell us about it and deadline. We’ll respond with clear scope and pricing options.
